The heart of ERIKA: a deterministic, ten-year schedule of recommended checkups for one profile.
How a plan is generated
When you generate a plan, ERIKA evaluates every active rule against the profile's species, age, sex, body metrics and risk answers. Rules that match expand their checkup across the age range they cover, at the interval they specify, over a ten-year horizon. Duplicate recommendations for the same checkup in the same year are merged, so you get one clean item.
The process is deterministic: the same inputs always produce the same plan. Nothing is guessed.
Reading the plan screen
- Years are collapsible sections, with the current year open by default.
- Each item names the checkup and lists the services it covers.
- A status badge shows where the item stands.
- Recommended by names the rule behind the item.
- Scheduled items show their date and provider inline.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning | How it gets there |
|---|---|---|
| Due | Recommended and not yet handled. | The default for every generated item. |
| Scheduled | An appointment exists for it. | You booked it through the Schedule action. |
| Completed | The care happened. | You marked it complete; any linked appointment is closed out too. |
| Skipped | You decided not to do it. | You confirmed the skip in a dialog that spells out the consequence. |
Regenerating a plan
Regenerate after editing a profile or updating risk answers. Regeneration replaces only items still marked due, from the current year forward.
Never touched by regeneration: completed items, skipped items, scheduled items and their appointments, and anything in a past year. Your history stays intact.
Why a recommendation might change
- You corrected a birth date or weight, moving an age window.
- You added a risk answer that activates an earlier or more frequent screening.
- The clinical taxonomy was updated as published guidance changed.
