Risk assessment

A short, species-specific questionnaire that personalizes a plan beyond age and sex.

Taking the assessment

Open a profile and choose Update risk assessment. Questions appear one at a time with a progress bar. Each answer is saved when you give it, so closing the app mid-way loses nothing — reopen and continue where you stopped.

What it asks about

  • Family history of conditions where guidance starts screening earlier.
  • Personal history and existing diagnoses.
  • Lifestyle factors such as tobacco use and activity.
  • For pets: living environment, outdoor exposure, and activity level.

Questions differ by species. A cat is never asked a human question, and vice versa — the set you see is the set that applies.

How answers change the plan

Each answer can activate rules that add checkups, start them at an earlier age, or increase how often they repeat. Every generated item records which rule produced it, and the plan screen shows that under Recommended by, so nothing appears without an explanation.

Answering honestly gives a more useful plan, but nothing here is shared with an insurer or a provider. It is used to build your schedule, and that is all.

When to update it

  • A new diagnosis in the family, or in the profile's own history.
  • A meaningful lifestyle change — quitting tobacco, a large weight change.
  • A pet moving indoors or outdoors.
  • Otherwise, once a year is a sensible rhythm.

After updating, regenerate the plan from the profile so future years reflect the new answers.
